So I will go ahead and admit that I have never played COD before MW2. I had COD4 but played it once and didn't seem to like it. I started gaming 8 months ago and Halo was the first game I bought (besides guitar hero which I was doing tourneys for), so maybe getting into Halo was the reason I wasn't fond of COD. Anyways, I recently became a recruit for an amazing gaming community called These Guys/Girls and most of them were going to be playing MW2. I told them about never playing so the Sat before MW2 came out they started helping me learn the basics of COD4. I must say, I am not the greatest but I definitely love MW2. Learning all the weapons and perks and yadda yadda is a little overwhelming but nicer when you have others explaining what they do.

How does everyone else feel about this game?

I like CoD4. The multiplayer aspect was always fun, and competitive. My friends and I would always hand out on Saturdays, and have mini competitions on who can have the best kill/death ratios for each round. When MW2 came out, I spent almost the whole day, after school, playing the campaign. Storywise the plot seems to getting better. I still haven't tried the multiplayer the aspect though.  

So it's sounding like the single player aspects are good?   Please tell me more, as I'm too sour and cheap to upgrade to gold just for multiplayer.  MW2 looks nice, but if it's a mediocre single player experience, I won't bother.

If you like action movies, you will love the Campaign. But it is hard to understand if you were not closely following the 1st game(if not, just wiki it). Anyways, since the campaign is short and not much replay value in it, you should wait till you have gold to play multiplayer to get your $60 worth of fun, otherwise just rent it for the kickass campaign.

Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward can now safely proclaim what we all have suspected for the better part of a week. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the biggest entertainment launch in history.

In a scant 5 days, Modern Warfare 2 has gobbled up $510 million worldwide and is well on its way to over $1 billion in total business. The launch is $50 million better than the previous video game record holder Grand Theft Auto IV which sold 6 million units for $500 million in the same time frame.

The success of Modern Warfare 2 does not stop there. Its impressive 5 day totals top the best worldwide box office opening held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the best domestic box office opening by The Dark Knight. Single day records also fell for all of film, video games and even the $220 single day book record held by Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows.

With millions of copies of Modern Warfare 2 in consumers hands, Xbox Live Marketplace records have also been swallowed up in the game's wake. New records include 5.2 million total hours logged on the first day, 2.2 million unique gamers on the first day, and 11 million achievements unlocked on the first day.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 still has plenty of room to keep those sales chugging along with the holiday shopping season sweet spot yet to come, unfavorable economic climate or otherwise.

I'm not big on COD either; I've only played COD2: Big Red One but I really enjoyed it for the little bit i played. I was turned off on a lot of FPSs before I played L4D. I'm going to be borrowing the first Modern Warfare from m friend. I hope that it find a great gaming experience in it. I doubt I will be dissapointed.

 I love the game! MW2 is the greatest game out right now in my opinion. I have played every call of duty game since the first one. Its soo  much fun to play. I like FPS's a lot so I'll play mostly anything thats an FPS game. :) Everyone should try COD4, COD:W@W, or MW2. Those games won't disappoint.
